This debut issue of Entertaining allowed me to do many of the things I enjoy. I did some baking while trying out many of the great recipes featured throughout the magazine, traveled to area communities to see the sights, and I was able to get to know more Womeninc readers by including quite a bit of subscriber involvement.
From the ladies who spent the day in Albert Lea, Minnesota (page 26) to the group who attended the Harvest Dinner Party (page 18), the women were an absolute joy to be around. It never ceases to amaze me how easily women can connect with each other, finding things in common or relating about one thing or another. No wonder most women love entertaining – it offers us the opportunity to build relationships and to gather together with those we care about.
The Going Places section covers some local treasures, showing we don’t need to travel to far away places to have fun. Sometimes the most interesting things are right in our own backyard. Take Albert Lea, for instance. We spent a day in the town taking in many of the stores and attractions and had a blast! After reading “Out and About: Albert Lea,” I hope you call the girls and head out on your own adventure, exploring all the things our area has to offer.
Whether your next opportunity to entertain is a large event or a family supper, I hope that you enjoy the ideas, advice, and recipes offered within the new Womeninc Entertaining. |
